Investment overview & strategy
Beyond the margin against the original purchase price, a car sale generates revenue for the dealer as an opportunity to sell back-end products including warranties and service contracts offered at the point of sale. The discount is a cost that a dealer accepts to mitigate aging lot inventory and generate back-end revenue.
Selling a loans even at a discount converts future receivables to cash, and avoids the carrying costs of an aging lot. Beyond the gain upon on The sale also generates income beyond the vehicle itself, including warranties, service contracts, and other back-end products sold at the point of purchase. The discount is a cost the dealer accepts in exchange for a completed sale and the revenue that follows.
How it works
A car loan is simple credit: advanced at the dealership, repaid in level monthly installments over 60 months, and secured by the vehicle. Three things drive the return: the purchase discount, which sits in front of losses; the interest rate, paid while each loan performs; and fast amortization, which shrinks what’s at risk each month. Losses are built into the plan.
Subscriptions are held in Groundfloor Notes between loan purchases, so your money earns while the portfolio buys through the end of 2026. Distributions are paid monthly.
The portfolio's deal model, scaled to your amount; each payment is split into principal and earnings at the scenario's internal rate of return. In every modeled scenario you receive more than you invested; in the downside case the gain is smaller and takes longer. Projections, not a forecast or a guarantee; you may lose principal.

A payment-dependent note issued by a Groundfloor subsidiary that holds the whole auto loans and their vehicle titles. You are not buying the loans directly or units in Parrotfish's fund. The subsidiary collects borrower payments through the servicer and distributes them to note holders monthly.
Newly originated loans from dealerships on the Automatic USA platform, averaging about $15,000 over 60 months. Borrowers are near- or sub-prime; per Parrotfish's underwriting data, the approved credit box averages roughly a 616 credit score. Each loan is secured by the financed vehicle, with title assigned to the Groundfloor subsidiary at purchase.
Returns are not guaranteed and you may lose principal. Losses can exceed the modeled scenarios, used-vehicle values can fall, the program depends on its partners, and the note is illiquid for its full term. It suits an accredited investor who wants monthly income with a high target return and can hold a position as it amortizes; for money you may need sooner, a shorter Groundfloor Note is the better fit.
